Ellie has started agility lessons.

We are taking things very slowly - or trying to! (Ellie doesn't do anything slowly!)jumping2

She jumps like a gazelle (sort of vertical leaps) and she doesn't really look where she is going. I guess that is the obedience training showing. She won't take her eyes off me - so she can sometimes run into jumps not even realising they are there! I'm told that she will get the hang of it!

The first attempt at the A-frame was a bit of a surprise. She really spooked and didn't like being at the top - but she is slowly getting more confident. I never held her or forced her. If she wanted to get off she could. She just followed treats slowly up to top then down the other side - one step at a time!

Today we tried the dog walk - firstly as a plank on the ground then up high (well only half height). She coped with this fine - again very slowly.

She seems to really enjoy the agility - especially the tunnel! (I think that brings back memories of Al, my crossbreed that had to be persuaded to come out of a tunnel - he loved it so much!)

We do the agility lessons with Mel and Mikki. Mikki is streets ahead of Ellie - but he has been doing it for longer!

The piccies aren't of Ellie - I have yet to photograph her doing her stuff! I took these at the ACTS agility show last year - we can dream that we can aspire to such dizzy heights!

I'm off now to finish my home made jump wings. I very proud of my novice woodworking skills - just need a lick of paint and we're off!
