Sunday 6th June and the weather was scorching for the Hearing Dogs Fun day, held at their Saunderton (Grange) headquarters.
We took the children and Ellie (for socialising) and had a great day. We took our picnic (although there was a barbeque) and delighted in the number of dogs milling around. There were dogs of all different breeds (and mixtures of breeds) and all were of fantastic temperament.
There was loads to do and see. We enjoyed hearing about the different dog's stories when the awards were presented. The children loved the hearing dogs display and my favourite was the Dog Dancing (heelwork to music) display by Atilla Szkukalek.
Pets as Therapy had a stand and also carried out a PAT Parade and it was lovely to see all of the fantastic dogs that bring pleasure to so many.
There was loads for the children to do including a climbing wall (Laura & Scott were a bit young) and the usual bouncy castle as well as the ever favourite Colonel Custard...
The experience was very good for Ellie who, although barking at some of the action events (particularly the terrier racing) was very well behaved. Lots of people fussed her and she enjoyed her day. Even better, she was so exhausted that she gave us a quiet evening!
